Hickenlooper Hires Carlee Brown to Lead on Water Policy

Jan 27, 2023

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senator John Hickenlooper announced that Carlee Brown, formerly of the House Natural Resources Committee and the Colorado Water Conservation Board, is joining his staff to handle water and public lands policy.

“We’re ecstatic to welcome Carlee to Team Hick. Experienced in both Colorado-specific and broader Western water issues, she has the perfect mix of expertise and stakeholder relationships to help Colorado with our historic climate crisis,” said Senator Hickenlooper.

“I saw firsthand how Senator Hickenlooper’s leadership on Colorado’s first Water Plan during his time as governor led to a collaborative, informed framework to address the state’s water challenges,” Brown said. “Now, I’m incredibly excited to join the Senator’s staff and help him advance meaningful, climate-conscious policies that will benefit the lands, waterways, and forests that make Coloradans feel so connected to the state.”

Brown helped advance critical climate change legislation, including the Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan Authorization Act, and will assist the Hickenlooper office with his work on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) Committee.
