Hey Denver,
Did you hear? Thanks to our Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, we’re receiving $350 million for South Platte River restoration and flood mitigation!
This is huge news, and something that is very personal to me. You see, we envisioned the South Platte River project when I was Mayor of Denver years ago. This funding will finally get it done – talk about full circle!
This project will be transformative. Not only will it help restore critical ecosystems, but it will also save families money on flood insurance, clean up pollution, and create thousands of jobs. It’s another example of how our Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is prioritizing environmental justice.
We wouldn’t have gotten here without collaboration. Senator Michael Bennet, Mayor Michael Hancock, Representatives Diana DeGette and Ed Perlmutter, and countless community members all helped make this a reality.
