GIDDY UP-DATE NEWSLETTER: Northern Colorado is a hub for workforce innovation

Apr 4, 2022

Hey folks!

Last week our team swung through northern Colorado to see firsthand how we’re preparing our workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.

First stop was Colorado State University’s Powerhouse Energy Campus in Fort Collins. CSU is taking climate change research to new heights – with a bold, science-based approach that will not only help save our planet, but create millions of good-paying jobs in the process!

We met students who are working at the Industrial Assessment Center, which provides free energy assessments to local manufacturing businesses. It’s one of 31 centers we secured funding for in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

Then we visited the Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, where medical and education leaders are creating innovative pathways to recruit and train nurses and other health care workers. I even got to see the mannequin they use when training – pretty lifelike, huh?

Make no mistake, Colorado is ground zero for innovation. And I have no doubt our state is going to play a major role as we transition to a 21st-century workforce.

Northern Colorado wasn’t the only region we visited recently. Check out our TwitterFacebook, and Instagram pages for recaps of our travels!

See you next time,

Senator John Hickenlooper
