Last week Colorado became a hot spot for Cabinet Secretaries. Folks can’t seem to get enough of all the Centennial State has to offer – and I don’t blame them! From our growing workforce to our upcoming infrastructure upgrades, Colorado is setting the standard.
First to stop by was Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, who toured the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Thanks to our Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, Mines will be getting a brand new facility dedicated to energy and mineral research!
Then, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, who apparently got wind of Colorado’s fierce labor presence, came through to announce MILLIONS of dollars to expand apprenticeships programs like what we started in Colorado with CareerWise. It was wicked cool.
And as if that wasn’t enough, in comes Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, who was so enthralled by our state that he stuck around for TWO days. Pete’s real into infrastructure, and he couldn’t wait to see all we’re doing to expand public transit, transition to electric vehicles, and ease congestion on our roads.
Needless to say, it was quite a week. If I had to guess, I’d say more Cabinet Secretaries will be stopping by soon to see what we’re up to in Colorado.
