WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper met with Julie Su, acting secretary of the Department of Labor and President Biden’s nominee to lead the agency. The two discussed apprenticeship training programs, workforce development, child labor protections, and her goals for the department if confirmed.
“Julie Su knows the ins and outs of labor and has the best interests of working Americans in mind,” said Hickenlooper, following the meeting.“Secretary Su will help us build a 21st century industry that protects workers and sets us up to better compete on the world stage.”
This Congress, Hickenlooper chairs the Subcommittee on Employment and Workforce Safety within the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
