Denver — Today, U.S. Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet applauded President Joe Biden’s appointment of Aikta Marcoulier to serve as the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Region 8 Administrator. Bennet and Hickenlooper recommended Marcoulier to the position.
“Aikta is already helping Colorado small business find their footing,” said Hickenlooper. “She knows the value they provide by creating jobs and the challenges their owners face to keep the doors open. That’s why there’s no one better to serve as Administrator for Region 8.”
“From her role at the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center to her extensive community engagement in Colorado Springs, Aikta Marcoulier has a proven record of developing innovative programming to help small businesses grow and thrive. I look forward to working with her to ensure that SBA programs meet the evolving needs of Coloradans and the entire region, especially as small businesses continue to recover from the pandemic,” said Bennet.
Marcoulier currently serves as the Executive Director of the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center. Marcoulier is involved in the El Pomar Emerging Leaders Program and is an active board member of the Pikes Peak Workforce Development Board and vice-chair of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado. She is on the Pikes Peak Community College Business Advisory Board and is president of the Colorado Business Development Foundation. Through her professional experience and her community involvement, Marcoulier has an extensive background supporting small businesses in Colorado.
