Hi folks,
We’ve got some good news to share this holiday season: Our PUEBLO Act is on its way to the President’s desk to be signed into law! Our bipartisan legislation was included in the annual defense bill, which passed the Senate and the House last week.
What does this bill mean for Pueblo and surrounding communities? Our PUEBLO Act directs the Army to close the Pueblo Chemical Depot no later than one year after the chemical demilitarization mission, which happened in June.
Passage of this legislation means a seamless transfer of Department of Defense land to a local economic authority which will reimagine the property to serve Pueblo for decades to come. This will elevate Pueblo’s transportation and manufacturing powerhouse industry, and create new, good-paying jobs for Coloradans, too!
