ICYMI: we recently held a Town Hall in Durango! It was great to sit down and update Coloradans on the work we’re doing in Washington. Here are some highlights (with video links!):
Our public lands and outdoor recreation power Colorado’s local economies. Protecting these lands will be vital to growing our state and pushing back against the threat of climate change – not to mention preserving our natural wonders for future generations!
Immigrants make our nation and our economy stronger, and fixing our broken immigration system is critical to securing our future. Congress has put off this priority for too long – and it’s time we change that.
You may have heard Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is blocking over 250 military promotions – all because the military ensures our service members get the health care they need, even if it means going out of state to get it. This isn’t just wrong, it’s dangerous – and we’ll continue to put pressure on Republicans to end this charade.
Creating a level playing field for entrepreneurs will be critical to growing our economy. That’s why we’re fighting to diversify the backgrounds of people applying for SBA loans to increase the participation of women and minorities in our small business community.
These are just a few of the many things we had the chance to discuss! Thanks to everyone who came out to be with us. And remember: if you have something on your mind, reach out to us with your concerns and we’ll be sure to get back to you!
Senator John Hickenlooper
